Integrating physical activity into other policies and plans will ensure the most effective use of resources.

Integrated Active Living Policy & Planning Within Council

To ensure the most effective use of resources, it is recommended that local governments use an integrated approach to planning for physical activity, in line with the whole of local government approach.

Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework and Active Living

In Western Australia, as per the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework being introduced, all local governments will be required to produce a minimum 10 year Strategic Community Plan informed by community aspirations.

Developing a Physical Activity Plan

A Physical Activity Plan is a strategic planning document that identifies physical activity as a priority for Local Government. It provides a framework and a set of objectives to assist local governments in delivering services.

Policy & Planning Resources and Guidelines

A number of sample physical activity plans, policy and planning resources and case studies are available to assist local governments in developing their own physical activity policies and plans.

Physical Activity Plan Examples

The Taskforce compiled a list of sample physical activity plans which may assist local governments and other key stakeholders in developing their own physical activity plans.
