The following communications strategy was developed by the Taskforce's Communications Advisory Committee as a comprehensive, long-term communications framework for the Physical Activity Taskforce.

The aim of the Communications Strategy 2002 - 2011 was to contribute to increasing physical activity by raising awareness of the type and frequency of physical activity necessary for a health benefit, to influence mediators of physical activity and to encourage use of both existing and emerging opportunities.
