2012 School Physical Activity Calendar and Information Kit

2012 School Calendar and Information Kit

Schools are in an ideal position to provide physical activity opportunities for children and help them develop the knowledge, skills and habits for lifelong healthy and active living.

In support of this, the Physical Activity Taskforce compiled the following information kit and 2012 calendar of physical activity promotion activities and programs for schools.

The kit and calendar are intended to assist schools in planning 2012 physical activity programs, events and professional development for staff, to help them in providing the mandatory two hours of physical activity per week for students in years 1-10.

By prioritising physical activity, schools will benefit from:

  • Improved educational outcomes;
  • Healthier, happier children; and,
  • Enhanced links to the wider school community and a strong spirit of participation.
