Prepared by the Physical Activity Taskforce, this document provides a summary of participation for Western Australian respondents to the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Exercise, Recreation and Sport Surveys (ERASS), with comparisons made to the national results.

The Exercise, Recreation and Sport Survey (ERASS) is conducted by Newspoll on behalf of the Australian Sports Commission and the state and territory government agencies responsible for sport and recreation.  The survey was first conducted in 2001 and has been reported annually since.

Participants aged 15 year or older are interviewed about the types, frequency and duration of organised or non-organised activities they have undertaken for sport, recreation or exercise during the previous 12 months.

The Exercise, Recreation and Sport Survey (ERASS) is a joint initiative of the Australian Sports Commission and the state and territory government agencies responsible for sport and recreation. The first survey was conducted in 2001. This publication presents results from the tenth annual ERASS data collection, which was conducted in 2010.
